WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM JESUS?

WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM JESUS?
SCRIPTURAL SOLUTIONS INSIGHT (SSI)
Meditation: John 1:37-39

Your, Answer determines your position around Jesus, As usual, from the scripture, we discovered that many follow Jesus because of what they want, but our relationship with Jesus needs to be more than what we want, as in the case of Nigeria in Christendom many are followers of Jesus just because of what they want. But nothing wrong with that, but it determines our position with him
One of my customers sometimes discusses with me, he's a Christian, and he says people in Nigeria today are going to church because of their wants, He narrated his journey from different Bible schools when he was seeking Knowledge to know God more, and he said he stop valuing church because all serve Jesus for their reward,

Oh sorry about that statement, All I know,  we still have people who wholeheartedly serve God. This Led to the Question of Jesus to his first disciple, Don't forget, In Christendom, we have Followers and disciples. Disciples of Christ, see him as everything, Jesus is their standard, So the disciples are always seeking Jesus to have a deep relationship with him, then just asking for wants. Followers sometimes have love for Jesus just because of what they want.

John 1.37 - When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus.

John 1.38 - Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, "What do you want?" They said, "Rabbi" (which means Teacher), "Where are you staying?"

John 1.39 - "Come," he replied, "and you will see." So they went and saw where he was staying, and spent that day with him. It was about the tenth hour.

Followers, most times become disciples. Jesus knows and understands the pre-destiny of the disciples of John, that they will be around him, but Our decision about why will follow Jesus matters. Jesus doesn't force us to follow him, That is why from the above scripture he asks "What do you want?

In your Journey with Jesus this year, He's asking you what you want.  Yes, I know you want almost everything you desire to achieve this year, and My Jesus is ready to give you all. But more than you want this year, make up your mind like the two disciples that you want to stay with Jesus.

Follow him, with this mindset Hunger, where is Jesus, he's my lover, I want to stay with him.

Those who desire to stay with Jesus, Have no desire for wants, but wants are always added to them. The most important thing to Them is to learn from the teacher, about the journey of their Destiny. From the scripture, those who don't ask for wants become the disciples of Jesus, and those who ask receive but remain at the level of followers of Jesus. Why do you think Bartimaeus became a follower but not a disciple of Jesus? What he desires when he hears about Jesus is That he WANTS to see.

The same question asked from the disciples was asked from him when he was shouting Jesus Son of David have mercy on me. And the same Question is asking from us now, and it determines our position around Jesus.

Let me relate the Bible verse and see the difference, what makes disciples and followers.

Mark.10.46 - Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (that is, the Son of Timaeus), was sitting by the roadside begging.

Mark.10.47 - When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"

Mark.10.50 - Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

Mark.10.51 - "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."

Mark.10.52 - "Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

In V51 the question again is that what do you want me to do for you? The man answered I want to see and Jesus replied to him. GO, your faith has healed you. Why did Jesus say Go? He knew this man needed healing not a relationship with him, the same question was asked of the disciples but He Said to Them Come. The difference between the two is the Answer to the Question.

Those that he said came, spent days with him, I know he was teaching them and Giving them instructions on what to do and not to do,   but the man he said Go become a follower and Follow him along the road.

So this year, no matter your goal, Desire, want to Enjoy the instructions of God, Stay with him, and Let him give you words to run with. Your reply determines if you're a disciple or a follower.

Finally, What do you want? Why do you follow Jesus? Want or Hunger to know more about him. Define your want and why around Jesus. God bless you.

Let's Pray: Father in Heaven, Help me to love you more, To stay where you are. Amen.

Lesson: Let Become a disciple, then being a follower of Jesus Christ. Disciples follow instructions.
