FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT

TEXT EPH 5:8

Eph. 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light

Before we met Christ we are walking in the darkness, we do the things of the darkness, from vs 3 of the same chapter tell us the things we do before we met Christ, things that are of the darkness, we were living a life of sin until Christ encounter our lives.

Even when God created the heaven and the earth and darkness was upon the face of the deep, though the Spirit of God was moving upon the face of the water, God call out light and it was so.

For God to continue the other work of creation He called out light, He didn't continue the work in darkness. It is until when God created the light that He says it was good, there's a clear different between things done in light and darkness.

2 Cor. 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Man began to live in darkness when our first parent ate the fruit and died spiritually.

God gave His people  the book of laws so as to bring them back to Himself. But laws can't not be a measure to work in the light of God.

We were living a life full of sin, flesh dominate and control us, evils began to increase and multiply. Darkness rule over the world, many didn't care about the things of God.

Jesus Christ came and died for us to bring us from darkness to light. 

After the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus, darkness has no power over us again,  the day we gave our lives to Christ, we have been called out of darkness to light. Hallelujah 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

To have this light, flesh must died in us, sin must be crucified in us and resurrect into the life of Christ.

2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. We have the  new life of Christ

2 Cor 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

God loves us and want to bring us back to Him, that's why He sent His only begotten son to die for us.

Jesus is the light of God. 

When you encounter this light, your life will never be the same, people around you will know that truly you have an encounter with Christ.

When Paul called Saul encounter Christ, He saw the light and became blind, though he was blind he could see Jesus, Jesus Christ speak to him, after surrender to the lordship of Christ through the encounter he had with the light, his life changes. 

A persecutor of the saint now becomes a soul winners, He became an apostle, he began to bring people to the light of Christ.

Many souls came to the saving grace of Christ Jesus through Paul the apostle, once a persecutor and an antagonist of the gospel of Christ. Someone that hate the gospel later became the one that preached the gospel of Christ to the gentiles in which we are enjoying today.

Darkness blind us from the ways of God, it blind us from receiving the light of Christ, the gospel of Christ Jesus.

Darkness is for people who are living in sin, in the flesh, they have no direction, all they do is to live after the flesh and satisfy the flesh, the devil blind them and make them think it's normal to sin, there's nothing wrong with it.

Since Satan is the prince of this world, He has power over man to blind them from coming to the light of the Saviour, He's trying to have more followers, many that will perish with him

He's working tirelessly, he has many agent working with him so as to have many that will work after him and forsake the light

Some will even say we can't do without sin, devil has blind them from receiving the fullness of Christ life. If we can't do without sin, why did Christ died for us then. Is it not to be free from sin and it's consequence.

When we encounter Christ,the light of God comes in to our lives and darkness flee away. Light open our eyes to see and know the truth, it make us know the truth of the word of God. It burns away every activities of flesh in us.

Our life must reflect the light of Christ, we must light others by bringing them from darkness to light. Preaching Christ to them for them to be out of darkness into the marvellous light of Christ Jesus.

You can only reject to walk in the darkness if you have the light of God.

Matt. 5:14-16

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot, be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Good work are not done in the dark, if it is done in darkness then it can never be good. It is until you let the light shine before men and bring them to the light(Christ Jesus) before they will glorify your Father which is in heaven.

You don't light a candle and cover it up and expect people to see, you have to let is shine, let Christ reflect in you, in everything you do that people will come to that light.

Wherever light is darkness will flee away, they have nothing in common. Light must overcome darkness

A pastor once said gather the whole darkness of this world, I mean the whole universe, put it in a place and light a candle, just one candle, he said as the candle becomes more brighter, the darkness begins to flee

For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

And the Gentiles shall come to thy light

When the glory of God is seen in our lives, it will shine and the light that come out of it will bring men to it and be save. Gentiles are those that are not save yet but at the shining of the light(Christ in us) they will be save.

What a great love the Father has for us that all men will be save and be out of darkness into the marvellous light of Christ Jesus.

Let your light shine before men, as you've been save in Christ, also call men to this great light in order not to perish and their lives in hell fire

God is calling unto me and you to bring men from darkness to light, many souls are perishing let rise and evangelise the Light

Let's preach the gospel of Christ Jesus to the lost soul, let's call them to the marvellous light of Christ Jesus.
