You’re Not Weak, It’s Your Definition

You’re Not Weak, It’s Your Definition

This morning while preparing for a training manual and doing some research, a question dropped in my heart: What is your definition of yourself?

You see, we often do not live by God’s definition of us, we live by our own definition. And that’s why I say: You’re not weak, you just defined yourself as weak.

Your definition has the power to shape your perception, and your perception shapes your reality. If you define yourself as weak, incapable, or unworthy, you will live like it even when God has given you strength. Many believers still see themselves as fragile and powerless, forgetting that God has already called them strong and capable.

It’s not that you lack strength; it’s that you don’t know or you are not aware of what God has said about you. True weakness comes when you don’t find God enough or fail to align with His Word.

Look at Gideon in the book of Judges. When the Lord called him, God said: “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” (Judges 6:14-15)

Did you notice something? God didn’t tell Gideon to wait for a new strength to come. He told him to go in the strength he already had.

But Gideon defined himself as weak: He said he was from the weakest clan. He said he was the least in his family. Yet God never called him weak. Gideon called himself weak. His definition limited him, not God’s definition.

The same happened with Moses. When God called him to deliver Israel, Moses said: “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” (Exodus 3:11) He defined himself as unqualified. But God answered him: “I will be with you.”

The presence of God was the qualification Moses needed. It wasn’t about his eloquence, status, or personal power; it was about God’s definition and God’s presence.

How many assignments, dreams, and callings have you delayed because you defined yourself as weak? “I can’t do this because I don’t have the resources.” “I can’t step out because I don’t have the connection.” “I can’t carry this assignment because I’m not strong enough.”

But the Word of God says: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13) “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

This means strength and supply are already guaranteed. Weakness is not your identity, weakness is simply the wrong definition you gave yourself.

God doesn’t define you by your past. God doesn’t define you by your family background. God doesn’t define you by your present limitations. God defines you by His calling, His Word, and His Spirit in you.

In your weakness, His strength is made perfect. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

So stop magnifying your struggles and start magnifying God. Stop defining yourself by your trouble and start defining yourself by His truth.

You’re not weak. You’ve only been defining yourself wrong. Redefine yourself by what God has said: You are strong in the Lord. You are able by His Spirit. You are qualified by His presence. You are complete in Christ.

When you find God enough, you’ll discover that what you thought was weakness is actually the platform for His strength.

So, you’re not weak, it's your definition. Change your definition, and you will change your reality.
