WHEN FACING THE HARDEST OBSTACLES: WHAT TO KNOW AND THE WAY FORWARD** (Article 4)
**WHEN FACING THE HARDEST OBSTACLES: WHAT TO KNOW AND THE WAY FORWARD** (Article 4)
We don't back down when facing obstacles; giving up is not an option. Let it not even enter your mind. Overcoming the hardest obstacles requires toughness in both mind and spirit. Your mindset must be resilient; you must not succumb to the challenges before you. Before I continue, let me help you recall the last three articles.
In the previous article, I emphasized the importance of self-awareness and taking responsibility for the obstacles we encounter. In the second article, I discussed the need to seek help when confronting significant challenges. In the third article, I focused on the value of seeking guidance. It is essential to look for someone who can share their perspective, wisdom, or experience to help you understand your situation or make informed decisions. You aren't necessarily asking someone to solve your problems for you; rather, you are seeking their insight or advice regarding the obstacles you face. Now, let’s dive into Article 4. I urge you to encourage yourself to become tougher.
You must not give up due to the obstacles in your path. Consider the example of David—what if he had surrendered when faced with overwhelming challenges against the Israelites? David understood that the only way to find a solution was to encourage himself to become tougher in the face of adversity. The problem may seem like a roaring lion, but David stood firm. Remember, he said, "..for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” Tell yourself, "I will not be brought down by my challenges; the Lord will uplift me."
What makes you tougher in the face of difficult problems is your faith. You must work on strengthening your faith. Your focus should not be solely on the challenges but rather on building enough faith to overcome them. The reason to be steadfast in faith is that difficult problems often come to test it. When your faith faces trials and you feel lost, you must trust in God with greater resolve. Challenges are ultimately preparing you for becoming the best version of yourself. How steadfast you are in your faith when facing life's hardest obstacles will determine your ability to overcome them.
The greater the obstacle, the stronger your faith should be. Do not bend in fear; instead, rise in trust in the Lord. One of the most challenging periods I experienced was in 2020, when I felt utterly lost and detached from my true self. Nothing on Earth made sense, and I found myself contemplating permanent solutions to temporary problems, including thoughts of suicide. Thankfully, a brother of mine consistently spoke words of encouragement into my life, helping to build my faith so that I could face even the most daunting obstacles.
To be tougher when confronting life's hardest challenges, you must pay attention to the words you absorb. Read and study the Word of God, and listen to the advice of those whom He is using to guide you. Words can build your faith, and the practice of prayer is equally important. Faith is nurtured through hearing the Word (Romans 10:17) and built through prayer (Jude 1:20).
Finally, remember that your faith is what equips you to be tougher and to face each difficult problem. Encourage yourself to be a diligent student of the Word and of prayer. Putting your complete trust in God allows you to view obstacles from a new perspective. Fight the good fight of faith. God bless you.
